I brought my score from 400 to 740 in 5 months.

too long for me :(

May I ask you to reply for my stand-by registration thread?
Thanks

I would recommend reading this thread that someone posted. Especially apply tip #9!
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/1024138-how-i-got-800-sat-critical-reading-story-guide.html

Also read silverturtle’s guide on the SAT and look at the Critical Reading section for more tips and practice questions.

Good luck!

ok. thanks!

Which book should I use?

Ok. I will.

I’m assuming that the above person is referring to “The Blue Book,” or The Official SAT Study Guide, Second Edition. Definitely get this, as it has some great practice and 10 SAT tests.

^
I have already bought it and done all tests about 2-3 times. How good is Princeton Review?

I think that might be the next best thing as far as test difficulty is concerned.

Ok. I will use it then. Thank you.

You know what, OC is good but I have a big problem-- I can’t concentrate on a computer screen.

^

I had the same problem. I have a laser printer so I just printed the test out (48-52 pages). If you set your printer to the brand’s “toner saver” setting and low resolution and print on both sides, the cost comes out to be less than 3c per page. Then I went back and looked at the answer key on the screen which isn’t too bad (200 pages is a lot to print out).

ok. That’s a good idea. I will do the same when I finish PR and BB.

Good luck Suleyman95,

We both joined CC around the same time. I saw your posts during the summer when I started my quest to improve my SAT score. Like you, English isn’t my first language. But I practiced with OC and the Blue Blue and raised my CR score from 570 to 730. You can too!

I would do OC before PR.

@iScore
It’s great. A 730 is really amazing! May I ask how many words did you memorize? Personally, I memorized Direct Hits vol1&2 and Rocket Review. But I still miss a lot of questions
@GreedIsGood
As soon as I print out OC I will drop PR.

Good luck Suleyman95. I wish I had the time to study 6 hours a day. Use it, strategize, look at your weak points and work specifically on them. Is it timing?, are you too fast?, is it your vocab? You might want to read and try to comprehend more newspapers and articles if you have the time. The New York Times website is a good place to start.
I really hope you get past your target score.
