Hi..I was just wondering if i stand a decent chance at all of getting into Columbia..I think i can sell myself really well via the essay, and that I have pretty good grades, but my test scores arent as high as they could be...
I am Colombian and have lived in america for 8 years. Ive heard Columbia U is big on diversity so i figured that my ethnicity would be somewhat of an advantage..

I go to college academy at broward community college..
would end up getting an associates degree simultaneously with my high school diploma...
my weighted county gpa is 5.08..
weighted for core courses is 4.4
and regular is 3.82

SAT...
690 in math
670 in Reading
620 in writing
I plan to retake it, I was tired and it took time for me to get into "testing mode." It happened well after i was done with the essay and ended up getting an 8 on it..
Havent taken my SAT Subject Tests yet.
Plan on Taking math 1 and Spanish.

I have 77 hours of community service.
I did them for a group that helps poor children in colombia.
I needed a car to go to college, and didnt want to burden my parents, so I stopped doing community service at 15 to concentrate on working and on improving my grades. I usually work 5 hours on fridays, and 15 to 16 hour double shifts on Saturday, leaving sunday to relax and do homework.

I also LOOOOVE film. Columbia is a liberal arts school so that may probably help me. I want to write screenplays and hopefully direct movies when im older. I find philosophy very interesting and sort of take pride in being different from most people..is that what columbia is looking for? Will race, a 2100-ish sat, and ambition get me into this school?
