Can you still get into nyu even though if you have sat IIs in the 500s range?

im sure there is at least ONE person at NYU who have scores in that range...but i dont know who

i got in ED with a 580 on the physics SAT II, so there's always hope :)

HCube, what were ur stats?

NYU cares very little about SATII's

My SAT: 2110, around 90 average

My SAT: 1880, and in at Stern

Isn't that hopeful:)?

CR:560 (I hate vocabs)
M:670
W:650

530 on Math SAT2 and I got in.

mattistotle, actually applicants who will be applying this fall for entry in Sept. '07 are going to be required to take SATIIs. The only exception will be those in Tisch and Steinhardt who have to submit portfolios/audition etc.

was it the Math IC or IIC?
what other SAT II's did u take?

im taking mine in June, so any advice would be well appreciated.
i'm applying ED this fall.

Math 1

I took Literature and got a 660.

I think if you're applying to Stern, your math 1/2C scores really count. Like, my stats were really nothing special but my SAT Math 780 and SAT II 2C 800 really helped me.

Yes....you can.

thanks for the response. those are the exact same ones im taking. i might also take the french one, but i haven't yet decided.

any other info you can give? EC's? I really appreciate your help!
congrats on getting in! i hope to be in your same position a few months from now! ( Dec 15th is the ED response date, right?)

matth...theres a difference between requiring them, and NYU putting weight into them. SATII's are more about helping people on the edge...you wont be rejected for bad scores, but if your borderline great scores can get you in....or atleast thats how it was for '09'ers.

mattistotle, you're missing the point. There's been a change in NYU's policy. Everyone now HAS to take SATIIs except those I mentioned earlier. They WILL be a part of the admissions decision for all of those applicants, they will have 'weight to them'. They are now required, but before they were just recommended. There's a difference. What you're describing is the old policy. For kids applying this fall for '07, the policy is changed.

what is the new policy then? how many are required, 2? my Fiske guide from 2006 says that they are only recommended so i dont know the the policy yet...!
