Impressive ECs..

What are the most impressive but believable ECs your have seen during your time on CC?

A 2,000 page book written by a high school Junior that proves the events in Star Wars actually happened.

Running a program at Cedars-Sinai in which volunteers visit and provide general companionship to patients, especially children, and their families.

Serving as campaign manager for a young man who ran for mayor of his town (and won!).

In my honest opinion, I do not think it is true and if someone did put it on their application he or she would look like an absolute fool who wasted his/her time - I mean he wrote 2000 pages on Star Wars, it’s probably longer than the script. Don’t think ad-coms would look at that EC and believe that the person would add useful diversity to the campus.

That’s as diverse as they get. Adcom can be certain that there is no better way to represent the Carrie-Fisher-stalking demographic.

here is a link to a post from a Harvard alumni interviewer talking about impressive ECs : http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/210497-those-ecs-weak-so-whats-good.html</a></p>

^Yep, that’s exactly what I was about to post. Notice that none of them are school club memberships.

But NSM has also talked about a girl who impressed her that was rejected from the marching band and instead found a way to become their manager of sorts (I believe). She committed herself to helping the band out behind the scenes, showing enormous initiative despite setbacks (and within the setting of her own school!). The key is to make an impact, whether that be an award or something less tangible.
