Improved MIT 2012 EA Decision Thread

It doesn’t matter when you get your decisions, within reasonable limits!

probably online the 15th- in previous years it’s been mail on friday, put online on saturday

I don’t think they’ll be ready to mail decisions by Friday… they’d have to finish selection in 4 days. That’s awfully fast.

To be perfectly honest, I’d rather them take their time and make good decisions than rush and make possible un-well-informed decisions.

However, I still think that we might be able to expect an update tomorrow or at least in the next few days. I don’t have school tomorrow for some teach in-service business, so I’ll be sure to update CC if they announce the date tomorrow during the school day. Sound good?

excellent. even though i have school, i can still check the admission blogs periodically. 5 more days, hopefully.

One can only hope at this point.

I’m wearing my MIT Lacrosse shirt right now- hopefully this time next week, it’ll be my home next fall.

I’m getting way ahead of myself- let’s try this: maybe this time next week, I’ll only have another 3 months left to wait!

[sigh]

I guess ducktape and I will be both at home today checking the blogs as I dont have to be in school until 11:30. I’d rather I have school though. It takes my mind of this.

MIT released a decision date… this Saturday, 15 December, at noon.

Check out decisions.mit.edu

woah how did you even find that? lol
well we all guessed right basically

HA. I totally called that one.

Just to remind everyone (and I’ll keep reminding everyone)- I am making the official decision thread. I’ll put it up Friday night. Originally, I had said three days before decisions came out, but knowing us, decisions wouldn’t start coming out until, like, page 10.

exactly. i think you should make a thread right now saying you are calling for the OFFICIAL OFFICIAL decision thread. ill bump it to make sure everyone sees it.

lol so true ^^

haha, I was considering it, but though that might be a bit pretentious.

And I posted right after you on the blogs, which I find funny.

EDIT: FINE, I’ll make a thread. Jesus, you people… :)

haha i got the first comment on the blog :P

Jerk. By this time, you guys all know the hours I’m working this weekend, so you should be able to figure out which comment is mine.

ughh i’m going to be a physics olympics at least until 2 :frowning:
well i guess its in the spirit of an mit applicant

I’ll be at Science Honors Program… I wonder if Columbia has computers in the Chem Library that we can use without having a Columbia ID…

What time do you get out? Man, it sounds like a lot of people on CC are going to have to wait a few hours to get decisions.

It’s interesting that compared to the total number of hours we’ve waited already, those few hours waiting to get home and check are going to be murder.

I get out at 12:30… but if there aren’t computers then I’ll have to take the subway downtown to the New York Public Library (which takes about 20 min or more) and wait 45 min - 1 hour to get a computer…

OR, as my mom just suggested, I could bring my laptop and find the nearest Starbucks after Columbia lets out…

Oh, definitely the Starbucks route. That way, no matter what the outcome, you’ll at least have the comfort of an overpriced coffee with you.

(I personally recommend the Peppermint Mocha this time of year, as it’s seasonal, but the Caramel Macchiatto is my usual drink.)
