Improvement by 200 points?

1910 on my first try in June that I hardly prepared for (just read a 12 essay and glanced at some geometry problems). I took the October one but probably did much worse (so sleepy and the desks were extremely uncomfortable). I'm retaking it one last time in December because I finally qualify for a fee waiver.

Since I'm aiming for Cal, I want to get into the 2000s (preferably 2100). I already have the "real" blue book and recently bought the Sparknotes Power Pack. However, I want to exchange the latter for a different study aid. **What SAT prep book would you recommend?/b

Well since most of us don’t know how much we’ve improved by it would probably be better to ask this question after October 23rd.

I used Blue Book, Online Course Tests, 10 Real SAT Tests from CB, PR 11 Practice Tests, and Barrons 2400.
Too bad, I only got a 600.

it depends what you need to improve the most in… Gruber’s is great for math, and RR is decent for writing. If it’s CR, run to your local library and pick up a good SAT classic.

I would say that 200 points is not too hard when you are in the 1900s. It really depends on which sections you struggle most on.

Math - Do as many problems as possible and review general concepts
CR- The only way to improve is to practice
Writing- This is probably the easiest section to improve, just get a book that covers all the tested grammar rules and then take a bunch of tests
Essay- Practice writing under a time limit and try to fill all the space

As you can see, most of the prep is simply taking practice tests. If you are lucky you will be able to find a plethora of old SAT tests online. As for one single study tool it depends on what your worst subject is.
