Improving accuracy on math!

HELP!! Making stupid mistakes is screwing me over big time. After taking practice tests, I get the stupidest questions wrong because I think -5*-4=-20 or something like that. I never get the hard questions wrong, just the easier ones. Can anyone help me with a strategy so that I can avoid making these careless mistakes?

Just practice, read carefully.

A good way to avoid these careless mistakes is to underline. Underline what is given and and what the question is asking. This should really help.

Simply take your time on each question. Most people should have no problem with time on the Math section -unless- they run into questions that they don't know for sure how to answer. If that's the case, what you need to worry about is studying the material and learning it.

On the June test, I worked slowly and carefully through each problem and finished with 10 minutes left, compared to the April test where I had to guess on about a dozen problems and finished with no time left.
