Improving ACT ENglish?

How can I improve my ACT English score? My Math ACT is about 33, Science 36, Reading 33-(hopefully higher if I can learn to speed read...)

But my English ACT is sporadic and terrible?? I got an 18 on my first English Practice ACT, but I guessed on most of the questions and didn't know what the goal of the test was... The second time I got a 24. How can I do better than that? I realized that I don't know a lot of things like "Whom"(How to use it correctly). Even basic things like ; or :

The organizational questions are really easy, but the grammar isn't? The funny thing is that I recently found out two days ago that it's means it has/it is, and its is possesive. I had those two switched. AND I AM A NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKER TOO???

You just have to learn the rules of grammar. But some prep books and go through the English section. When you learn the rules, your scores will go up a lot. I started out getting a 28 on practice English sections, then I worked my way up to a 35 on the first ACT I took.

How long did that take you, and how much relative time? I’m probably taking my first ACT in April.
