Is improving an ACT score 'easy' ? Im coming from the SATs where they purposfully try to trick you and stuff like that. However I heard that the ACT is not like that and is a very lucid test. And the test makers make sure that a certain # of each type of problem is on the test. If this is true, then wouldnt it be much easier to improve ones grades on than say, the SATs? Sorry if I sound ignorant, but Id like to know

I hear that too....like I heard about a few people who got mid 1200s V+M on the SAT then got 30+ on the ACT....but the SAT DOES set you up for failure.

From what I know there's no wrong answer penalty on the ACT whereas the SAT takes off 1/4 point for each WRONG answer. The ACT also has longer sections so that you're no rushed. There's a science section on the ACT but the SAT does not have such a section. The writing part is optional on the ACT whereas the writing part is mandatory on the SAT.

I'm wondering if improving ACT scores is easier than improving SAT scores...because I got 1290 M+V on the April administration and I'm getting 1220-1300 M+V on practice tests. Is it possible to go from say, like a 28 to a 33 by preparing for maybe a month over the summer?

Yea I got a 1410 M+V and I want to get a 1600 M+V, but incase I apply to any western/midwestern schools Im taking the ACT and I want a 35/36 to make up for abhysmal grades
