Hi, I'm a sophomore and am taking the ACT for the first time in June. I signed up last week, which will give me 6 weeks to prepare. I've taken two practice ACTs so far. A few days ago I took my first ever practice ACT, without any studying or preparations at all, and received a 27 composite (31M, 23E, 25R, 27S). I found that the math and science sections were less challenging than the English and reading sections but time was of the essence for every section. I then studied strenuously for 3 days (3 hours per day), which leads us to this morning. I woke up, took a practice test starting at 8AM, and received a completely different distribution of scoring. Again scoring a 27 composite, this time I had gotten a 28M, 26E, 23S, 32R. I also found that knowing the test better than the first time, sections weren't too rushed. I still have 5 weeks to prepare and plan on studying at least an hour a day, as well as taking 10 or more practice tests. What I'm asking is, how can I improve my score? If I don't get a 32, I'm going to be extremely upset. An ideal score for me would be a 34 but that seems to be very difficult. BTW, I've been using PR's Cracking ACT and Real ACT Prep Guide for the practice tests and studying. Any advice at all would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.
