Improving My Application to Cornell

the collegeboard website or princeton review...really anywhere

no. cornell is not that easy to get into. it is a very holistic approach and therefore many kids who seem to be perfect for cornell- are not accepted. you should search for the ED and RD cornell 2011 thread to get an idea of the types of kids that were NOT accepted.

is Cornell really that easy to get into?

overall, the entire college accepted about 20.5% of applicants this year. however, two things to consider: first, that this acceptance rate will only go down next year (this year it went down from 24%); and second, that this number reflects the average acceptance rate of all seven colleges. Arts & Sciences, for example, is highly competitive; its acceptance rate, at about 12%, is lower than the general "Cornell" acceptance percentage. I think architecture is the most competitive college, but I'm not sure. None of Cornell's colleges are "easy" to get into -- 20.5% is thoroughly respectable -- but some are less selective than others.

hope that helps.
