Improving SAT score suggestions

well
i got 187 on 10th grade psat
199 11th grade psat
no studying for both
then i studied quite a lot for march SAT
got 2190
its a decent score, but i'm confident i can do much better, especially with a 8...on the essay
btw my freind got 2190 on his first try in january and 2340 on his second in march, he claims he didn't do anything and that the scale helped him so hopefully that happens to me too

but what are suggestions for improving my SAT score next time i take it?

i'd be really happy with 2300+ and content with 2250+
i got 710 cr
740 math
740 writing (8 on essay -.-)

Read more, write more, take more practice tests.

Once you break 2200 stop.

well i already read and write A LOT unrelated to the SAT
and i’ve done a ton of practice tests
i’m going to do more but will just doing more and more of them improve my score?

Can anyone recomment me the best place for sat prep. Princetion, kaplan, or etc. Also do you think I should get private tutoring to improve my score. I really want to make a 600 point increase and want to know the best place to practice.

only want to improve my score by like 60-100 points, so i don’t think i need anything really excessive
just need to somehow move my essay from 8 to 12 and get an extra 40 points on CR

I have seen that the difference from an 8 and a 12 is not much, learn some vocab words that could help you sound smarter, that will bring up score.

really?
i know plenty of vocab words but i avoided using them a lot
the college board book said that if you use vocab words for show and they don’t perfectly fit the context they are hurting your essay and you will lose points
they said its better to use words that are “necessary” rather than vocab words

yeah but they want to see what your vocabulary is like too. Look at the Blue Book and you will see that the difference between 12-10 and 10-8 is vocab. Nothing else.

the Jan SAT I took, i got 1920 with CR 540 (incredibly low)
I’m going to retake it on this coming 2/5
currently im focusing on practising CR but I still get very low (like 520 - 570 only)
for each section i usually get only 10 or 11/24
Do you guys have any ideas what i should do?
Im very discouraged right now…

well one thing i can suggest is
don’t read the whole passage
start of doing the questions asking about a specific thing and go through the passage answering them
then do the general questions at the end
saves you time of reading passage twice
also for the vocab, think about what it sounds like
for example
floral was one of the answers on the march SAT and i guessed it right because floral sounds like flowers which are colorful and the sentence was describing colorful writing

kool92 ,what is your current score
