wait. Really? When was this. Like what year? Because in the ast 5 years the standrds have gone up super high so I mean…

Pripya, I wouldn’t generalize that most of the wait listed are minorities. They are probably reflective of the composition of the class they want. So if a girl declines, they will pick a girl from wait list. There has been a lot of complaints from legislators that IMSA doesn’t have enough underrepresented minorities (African americans and hispanics) so I expect it will be tougher for Asians with lower scores to get in. Excel is not just based on placement test. It’s based on the apps.

@priyaluvsbooks the dude applied for imsa last year meaning this would be his 1st year in imsa.

really? wow. i hope its like that this year lol

@priyaluvsbooks I know right! Hopefully we’ll see each other as IMSA sophs. next year!

Definitely! I am so nervous about apps tho. Wait r u taking sats this December? I’m taking them at nequa.

No today, I took them at Mundelein. Math was easy as always and hopefully reading comes together. I suppose the most stressful part of the application besides the SAT would be the endless essay reviews.

yeah. i guess. some of the essays r fun to write tho

I’d love to apply… My friend was accepted for class of '17… unfortunately I’m not an IL resident :(

@UIButton How were his sat scores and the rest of his application like?

@AviSaxena33 messaged you

@UIButton I would like to know as well

@priyaluvsbooks @phyish @UIButton Hey guys, not sure if anybody will respond, but I did receive the president’s award last year in 8th grade, so my question is, is that relevant really to IMSA and should I put it on my application?

@AviSaxena33 Yeah!

yeah. Definately. Any award shows imsa that youre a well rounded student.

Aforementioned IMSA sophomore here. You all are worried way too much. While coming here was the best thing for me, it’s not for everyone. There have been people in my class who came in with perfect SAT scores and have dropped already while some of the stud era in MI1/2 are doing the best. Chill out and relax.

Well. @1M5AT17AN Did you not worry this much when you applied?

@1M5AT17AN What were your sat scores like?

@1M5AT17AN May I know too pls?

Really, I wasn’t that worried. The SAT scores are available on the Academy’s website. Recall that since those are average numbers, 50% of the accepted class did worse and 50% did better.
