Guys I can’t wait till May 1st I’m already dying to know
Guys I can’t wait till may 1st to find out
so, you are telling you are dying :-B … well, less competition >:) <:-P
@Alyssa8 just joking… Do not think about IMSA, concentrate on your Normal Life! It will be over if you will get accepted
same tho, what do you think your chances are?
@melon132 slim to none tbh. However, I’m clinging on that slim chance hehe
If we make it, I’m taking you guys to play sports with me at IMSA. One of you already know who I am
@Isutiger25 same here, relying on my recs, and essays to get me through.
@captain1929 that subtle wink though
@lsutiger25 @melon132 I’m more relying on SAT and maybe a few awards
@lsutiger25 @melon132 @andrewd999 Mostly I’m relying on the fact that the 8th graders applying this year won’t be noble prize winning 1600 sat superhumans like they have been in some years lol.
How many people do u guys think applied? Same more or less compared to last year?
it is always around 600 “eligible” applicants. You can not really rely on how many people decided to message here on CC. It might be just very non-web-social group of people applying this year… I am giving myself a slight-to non chance anyway…
Compared to the previous years threads, our stats do not look as good as that years. So, maybe there was a decline in terms of peoples gpa/sat and an incline in quality of recs/essays :?
From another hand, they should choose me or any other applicant for class of 2020 who expressed their voice here on CC. Just because active people are more valuable for the environment than a silent crowd. …Unless IMSA prefers a non-social silent crowd with a skyrocket GPA and SAT and low creativity… anybody here agree with me?
Just joking, of course IMSa would prefer a skyrocket GPA and SAT over creativity <:-P
Hey guys, respond something please, say anything, it does not have to be “correct”… just you opinion… Please…
Why IMSA would not use an IQ test versus SAT??? Anybody have a idea?
IQ tests are often as unreliable as SAT scores. I believe IMSA should use more grade level test score so that they can see how students stand now with their grade level.
@lsutiger25 Thank you for your response! I agree that SAT measures your ability to follow the rules of SAT test, it doesn’t really measure your creativity… Your GPA measure how good you can follow your teacher rules… My math teacher is giving me Fs for my math assignments most of the time since I was doing them in my head different way, not the way she suggested and i could not show her steps, just the answers. The answers are correct, but they were not solved the way she wanted me to solve them… So, I ended up having a really bad math grade versus people who follow her rules… but does it mean I am worse? I feel like my math teacher hates me… she loves the girl who can solve the problem her way but this this girl is not able to solve anything beyond the program, but I can… However, my teacher hates me for this… I can tell you most of teachers don’t like creative students.
"Creative people, for better and worse, ignore social conventions. Thus, it can be hard for teachers to deal with creative students in a classroom setting where they must guide 20-30 students masse. "…Would you really want a little Picasso in your class? How about a baby Gertrude Stein? Or a teenage Eminem? The point is that the classroom isn’t designed for impulsive expression – that’s called talking out of turn. Instead, it’s all about obeying group dynamics and exerting focused attention. Those are important life skills, of course, but decades of psychological research suggest that such skills have little to do with creativity… "
… So I suck by IMSA standards…
