IMSA is definitely worth it. There are so many more opportunities. including internships, SIR, and fun activities.
I would disagree. IMSA has given me so many opportunities. If I was back at my old school, I likely would be doing well academically, but my actual skills and perspective on the world would be extremely limited. Extra-curriculars at IMSA are competitive, but not impossible for anyone.
thats straight up wrong. ecs are what make imsa students sleep at 3am the coursework isnât really what kills you. stick to 3 ecs u really like and you will be good
if iâm the smartest person in my grade, would it just be best for me to stick to my old school in terms of college applications?
It depends on a lot of other factors like which part of the state youâre from and the opportunities available to you.
my best advice is to stay for imsa for at least 1 week and choose if you want to leave later after your first week
what school are you from?
Do what you think is best, but in my opinion definitely not. People donât get into top 20 and 50 schools because they are the âbestâ, although arbitrary metrics are definitely a part of it, but after seeing many of my peers get into schools like these I firmly believe it has to do with you pursuing your passions and showing that to admissions. At IMSA you have those opportunities to pursue those passions.
iâm from a high school in the northwest suburbs
Then again donât come to IMSA because you think itâll help you get into fancy colleges, come to IMSA because you want to better yourself academically and socially. You have to be genuinely curious.
drop instagrams if ur gonna be co24
I was accepted. I wouldnât really be asking questions about it if I wasnât

Iâm not really sure if I want to go to IMSA for academics, because my current school is already up in the ranks. The main reason is probably for the boarding experience, internships, and SIR. I donât know if I want to leave behind the foundation I have built this year, because I have so many things to carry through with, but if I go to IMSA I will have to start over. Not to mention the competition I will fell there. Also, I got accepted but I canât give my insta cause I donât have one lol.
bruh moment
boarding experience, internships, and SIR
yeah basically ^^^
That question was not intended for you, it was for BL1234.
Iâm not tryna be a sales person, but I found that thereâs a lot more opportunities then just what you mentioned. For me, the emphasis on diversity and the research opportunities I found revolving that were amazing. Thereâs definitely heavy competition, but simultaneously youâll find a community of people who donât care about beating others, but rather they just love learning. I really found people I clicked with here and I think itâs the best thing to ever happen to me.
Accepted. I say âcalled offâ because they literally call your cell phone.
I feel like the group of friends that I have are already diverse and have the same type of mentality as me. The biggest reason for why I wouldnât want to go to imsa is leaving them and all the opportunities I have here behind. Also it is pretty expensive. Thatâs why I would like to talk to as many people as possible before I make a decision.
