in a dilemma- question about grad school

I am about to graduate at UC Irvine as an electrical engineering. I currently also intern at a company. The recruiter told me before starting the position that I would only be able to work 90 days after graduation since I will not be a student anymore.

But here's the dilemma. In order to keep this internship position, I will probably have to remain a student which means I would need to go to grad school. I have applied to cal state schools, namely cal state long beach, and have a strong chance of getting in. I couldn't apply to UC's because my GPA was not up to the requirements at the time of the deadline.

My question is as follows: is it better to go to a lower ranking grad school (cal state long beach) and keep this internship or wait a year to reapply to the UC's and try to find a job in between. Is a schools ranking as important for master's degree as it is for bachelor's degree?

Thanks

Why are you not trying to get a job to replace the internship? What is so special about this internship that it is worth either avoiding professional employment or entering grad school? None of the other questions can be answered until you explain what this internship is so important to you.

well there are a couple of a reasons and i don’t know what you guys will think of them but here it is. i think it’s still not very easy to obtain a full time job right now. I have been interviewing but haven’t gotten anything yet. I was thinking of keeping this internship because the money is pretty good and it could turn into a full time job once i finish masters at long beach (the company doesn’t really take bachelor students for full time jobs). If i keep the internship, i would be able to go to a grad school just a lower ranking one. another reason why i chose cal state was because it’s much cheaper.

this is just my reasoning. maybe there are other options that i could look into? please be easy on me :stuck_out_tongue: haha.
