Ok so I plan on taking the sat subject tests in the fall and then apply to some top schools. From what practice tests I'm sure I could get 800 or close to 800's in Chem, Bio, and Physics. The problem is that I'm not sure if taking all the science subject tests is overdoing it or if I should substitute one of the tests for a Math 2. I already took US History and got a 710 but I plan on majoring in something biology related. What I'm really asking is is it better to take subject tests in the field you want to major in or to show diversity in what you know?

If you can, take the SAT Subject for all 3 sciences and Math 2; you can take subject tests in October and November. In the case that you are applying EA/ED and the school does not accept November scores, replace 1 science with Math 2 as it shows diversity. Many colleges which require SAT Subject Tests require 2, of which 1 MUST be math, and the other must be a science. If you are going into biology, I recommend doing bio and chem as you will probably be doing more chem than physics as a bio major.

Definitely take math ii, but you can still take all the sciences if you know you’ll do well in them. It doesn’t cost more to send more scores to colleges.
