<p>At one of the schools I'm applying to, I've been really interested in the work of one of their professors, and his research is one of the things that made me take a second look at applying to the school.</p>
<p>Would it be bad idea to mention this (to be so specific)? I mean, its not like I've ever met him, I just think the research he does is interesting. And I don't want to sound like I'm assuming I could participate with the research if I went there- I don't even know if its open to undergrads. I also don't want them to think this is the only reason for me wanting to go there, because it most certainly is not</p>
<p>...or would it be safer to just talk about research in general, then?</p>
