In deep trouble, please help out

bumppppppppp

You’ve already gotten your answer in more ways than just one.

Retake them asap and get A’s, that’s all you can do now.

Actually, if you withdraw from more than 50% of your classes, most cc’s will place you on academic probation. That alone would kill your transfer. If you have a 5 unit class and a 4 unit class, you can’t drop the 5 unit because it accounts for more than 50% of your classes. Check with your cc. However, I would hypothesize that you are limited to dropping 1 class and getting good grades in the other 2. Get a tutor.

What are the classes? Where are you located? What is your current grade?

My previous post only applies if you are transferring this fall. If you are not transferring until 2013, just drop them all. =p

@UCBhopeful16
well, my question is… would getting W’s in semester and not having them spread out in different semester affect differently? and what the W’s are all pre-reqs? Would that affect differently?

@Amidda1217
Tutor isn’t enough. And a few other reasons why I need to drop them. I’ll be applying next fall. What if I won’t be put academic probation? Drop them? Question that I really want to ask is what I asked UCBhopeful16.

BUMPPPPPpppp

Nobody is going to know what your grade was at the time of withdrawal unless you volunteer that information. The transcript will say “W”, the name of the course, the term, and nothing more. Of course, I would not mention in the admission essay that you were failing the class. Other than that, you will be taking that secret to the grave. Just drop the classes and get it over with. If you wait too long, dropping won’t be an option. Then you will be stuck with three Fs and no chance of getting into the top tier UCs.

could anyone answer this?

is the fact that the w’s were my pre-reqs and that they occurred in one semester affect my chance differently? or are they just as same as getting any typical w’s, whether it be pre-req or not, and whether it be in one or different semesters?

Your question has already been answered…no, it will not affect you.

could anyone else confirm my questions?

At this point I feel you are no more than a ■■■■■.

I am not though… the latest questions differ from the first.

does receiving W’s in prereqs any more different than W’s from non pre-reqs classes? how about fact that I withdrew all the classes (resulting in not having any class anymore) and that they all occur in one semester rather than through out semesters?

why would I waste my time trolling… I have better things to do.

Okay, I can see that you’re nervous~so take a breath. You have already heard three times on the fiest page ALONE that it doesn’t matter. So what are you looking for then? I can only think of two outcomes; 1 miss sun or a representitive from the schools saying it doesn’t matter, which is really improbbable and even if they did would only lead to you looking scared and patethic under pressure (there are rumors going around that these accounts can be linked to applications); 2 someone comes along to make you panic more by saying it’s the most important thing on your application and if you drop a class you’ll be lucky to get into a state school which, unfortunately, is much more likely. And in the process you are agrivating many people who were trying to help you out but have now grown tired of this thread REPEATEDLY popping up in nost recent participated threads when they are most concerned with the replies on their own threads. I think it is completely acceptable to have this and comment for new topics but it makes no sense to just repeatedly comment looking for the same information that has been given to you repeatedly~ and approaches the cliche definition of insanity “doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results”. We all have enough of our own insanity to worry about.

Although to answer your new sk different from the past question: I wouldn’t think so but a grade would matter more there.

they are my hard political science classes? didn’t decide to drop them? and cekelly is it wrong to be worried and be scared? classes of 5 in summer, 3 class but no. my gpa is around 3.4 as of now? btw this may be case of for me, which my engineer friend might have suggested me to ask here.?

thanks for the help!!

Little background about me: I was accepted all 7 UCs that I applied including UCB and UCLA. I had about 10+Ws and even few Fs when I apply.
And answer your question: 1) it does not matter if you have probation in the past, as long as you are in good standing at the end of fall and spring semester, you are fine.
2) It does not matter how many Ws you have or if they were pre-reqs or not, as long as you able to get a better grade later, it does not matter, because things do happen in life, just remember to explain
3) UCs do not really cares about the Ws, they simply cross them out. I was really worried when I was waiting from the UCs, because I had really bad history, but in the end, I was accepted into all the UCs.

It’s,okay to be worried and scared, just not about things that don’t really matter. My point is that this thread may be seen as caving under a trivial amount of pressure and if the UCs see it they might wonder how that person would deal with the stresses of a four year university. And to the person who got exepted to UCB and LA w/ a few Fs what was your major? Im pretty sure engineering is more competitive…

btw asking for my friend. i poli sci and he economics. my gpa like 3.2? his like 3.5?
