In !<DESPERATE>! need of advice

Hey,

I am a sophomore at FSU who is looking to transfer out because the school is not a great fit for me. I have a 3.3 GPA currently with a major in business and my SAT score was 1850 total. I am looking at several schools to switch to for my junior year i.e. Vanderbilt, UM, Bentley, ect. Coming from a big state school I never really got to know my teachers so my letters of recommendation most likely wouldn't be the best. What do you guys think my chances are to get into the schools I mentioned above. If it's relevant my HS GPA was a 3.7, also if you guys know of any schools like the ones I said earlier on the east coast, (the more southern the better just so I can be closer to home) please let me know about them/my chances of getting into them. Sorry if my grammar is a bit off, but I am half asleep right now.

Thanks

BUMP* Would really appreciate some advising.
Thanks

I am a freshman and I am very eager to get to know my professors and take advantage of office hours, however I honesty don’t know what to do when I am there. I don’t really have specific questions or problems I want to discuss, but I still want to make sure the professor knows that I am trying and notices me. This may be a silly question…but can I go and talk to my professors about during office hours if I don’t really have questions?! Should I just make some questions up to ask!? I don’t want to bother them, but I know I need to visit office hours.

Yeah, it couldn’t hurt, but if you don’t mind please make your own thread for unrelated questions/convos. Go to office hours because even if you don’t build a great rep with the prof, he or she will still see that you are making an effort and will know your name.
