I am in a new college for my second semester. I do not have any grades for this college, but I asked the Registrar's Office to send an official transcript (with all courses in progress) to the colleges I am applying to. While emailing my adviser about meeting up to have her complete the College Official's Report, I realized that on the Common App form it says that official transcripts should accompany the report. I am afraid that if I send the report separate from the transcript, it will hurt my application. It might cause my application not to be complete, and then not be reviewed. Am I overreacting? Will the colleges accept the transcript and report despite them being sent separately?

Yes you are find don’t worry. The forms can come at separate times.

Can we have other opinions on this – my advisor barely nows me, and I dont know how organized/reliable he is. I would just rather have my registrar’s office send in a transcript seperately (as I have 54 credits and I think my college course work will be determining factor in admission decision)

I am a transfer student. I made transcript requests online, and my advisor signed off on my official college report form. Separate is fine!

I’ve run into another issue. I just met with my academic advisor. She a.) is not really sure of what a College Official’s Report is and b.) refuses to sign off on it because she doesn’t know me. My idea was to have her interview me to get a better idea of who I am, but she’s still not budging. She keeps giving me the run around. She gives me alternatives that aren’t really alternatives. Any advice? I’m panicking because I know I really need that report.

Bella, my suggestion would be to run over to the Deans office, and speak to somone. I think the College Officials report can be signed by either someone from the Deans office or your advisor. I think your advisor is confusing this with a recommendation. I think the main point of this form is to make certain you are in good standing, and do not have discliplanry issues, and they would like transcript with it (but some people send seperately).
