In desperate need of help

My UCSC acceptance was just recently revoked because of 2 D's i received in high school. My D's were caused by home life and i told them this through a letter. I want to transfer to UCSC because its my dream school and because i have family members who love me there. I currently have 67 transferable UC course at a community college and i have an AA in liberal arts and finished my IGETC. but my GPA is at a 2.4 because of my two D's. I could hopefully raise it to a 2.6 but i really don't think that its enough. I also may have to switch community colleges because i will be moving in January 2011 since my family is disowning me. What are my chances of getting into UCSC? i'm in desperate need of help.

I am not sure if I understand your situation correctly. You state that your acceptance at UCSC has been revoked because you received two Ds in high school and that you are currently a CCC student applying to transfer to UCSC. The grades you received in high school are not considered at all or even looked at by UCs and CSUs when you are applying as a transfer from a CCC. I am going to assume that you meant to say that you received the 2 Ds recently at your CCC after your acceptance by UCSC but before you completed your CCC coursework and this dropped your CCC GPA to a 2.4. If this is the case, UCSC probably revoked your acceptance for two reasons. One, you received Ds which are not considered satisfactory grades by the UCs and are for all practical purposes equivalent to Fs. Second, there was a significant drop in your academic performance between the time you were accepted by UCSC and finishing your courses at the CCC. If you look at your original acceptance letter carefully you will see that your acceptance was provisional and predicated on you maintaining the GPA you had when you were accepted.

It sounds like your academic performance dropped during a period in which you were going through a very stressful personal situation that could be seen as an extenuating factor that affected your studies. If this is the case you should contact the Admissions Office at UCSC and find out what you have to do to appeal the cancellation of your admission. You will probably have to write a letter of appeal in which you describe the extenuating circumstances and the impact they had on your studies and grades. They will then make a final decision as to whether you should be reinstated or the revoking of your acceptance made final.

I wentto a special high schoolwhere by the time you graduated from high school you not only get abhogh school deploma but also a community college AA degree
