<p>I'm a rising senior in Michigan and the schools i am considering are UChicago, UMichigan, JHU, Northwestern, Cornell, MIT, and Stanford. However, the only match there is Michigan and the rest are either slight or huge reaches. So i really need some recommendations for safeties to look into...</p>
<p>Stats and stuff:
ACT - 34 composite, 36 math, 36 english, 35 science, 30 reading, 32 writing
SAT - 2210, 790 math, 680 c.reading, 740 writing
SATIIs - 760 chemistry, 760 mathIIc
APs - 5 calcBC, 4 chemistry
GPA - 3.95 UW and taking a most difficult course load for my school, including 2nd year calculus at MSU
ECs - lots of music stuff (band, orchestra, marching band, lessons) and leadership in technical theatre (key grip/stage manager) plus a few miscelaneous clubs and some volunteer experience at a nursing home</p>
<p>I want to major in physics, so i want an excellent physics department with ample opportunity for research. Also, I am looking for a suburban or urban campus in or near a major city. I really love gothic architecture ;-). I need opportunities to be in music ensembles as a non-major...and i would prefer schools in the midwest or east, although please still suggest others. Oh and also, i do NOT want a religiously affiliated school...not my thing.</p>
