id think euro is harder. world is very general

I would definitely say Euro is harder. World was chronologically the first AP offered at my competitive high school.

Well, I’m currently in AP World, and it’s kicking my derriere.

I think AP World in terms of the exam, because it’s more generalized thus meaning the essay topics can range from 800 BCE to 5 minutes ago (not really ) Whenever, we take practice essays they’re always on random topics. One was on comparing the origins of Buddhism to the origins of Christianity dating back to the 600s (CE). While another was comparing the different law codes of civilizations before 600 CE.

The abundance of history that occurs between these two time constraints (800 BCE to Now) is rather wholesome and will be much harder to shorten or narrow down enough for self-study, IMO.

AP Euro, which I plan on taking next spring, seems more specific and individualized because it’s on Europe and Europe alone. I think it would be easier to self study and if you later decide to take an AP World class would benefit you much more in the long run.

i hope that world can be easy without taking euro first. also could anyone please tell me what the best textbooks for self-study of AP world history are?

also, is it easier to take AP euro or AP world first?

I took ap euro as a sophmore and it wasn’t hard so I would recommend taking euro :)

AP World is offered as a Freshman at my school, AP Euro for Sophomores, and APUSH For Juniors, likely in increasing order of difficulty
