Wharton, Columbia, Princeton, Yale, NYU, University of California, University of Chicago.

truthfully Im not quite sure how to chance you without the actual numbers…i wish you the best of luck. all of these schools are top notch so you will neeed some great stats… the editor thing and the awards are good but you deifnitely need more EC…

University of chicago and NYU really search out unique students so try to find something that you can be passionate about that will set you apart…

Thanks guys!
I’m in a lot of the clubs in school, and before applying I’ll have 2 leadership positions for ECs.
Truth is, my time is primarily consumed with the non-profit org and the election campaign project, which I think should be much more impressive than school stuff.

I see that without SAT it’s hard to chance me…but how do I measure up in terms of the other things? And what if you assume that my SAT is 2100+, can you chance me better that way?

Wharton- Reach
Columbia- Reach
Princeton- Reach
Yale- Reach
NYU- High Match
University of California- Most likely match
University of Chicago- Low Reach/Reach

For first 4 schools, 2250+ sat is really helpful/needed.
Great EC’s
yeah, keep working on those awards and leadership positions
good gpa.

You are def on right track.
Keep up the good work.

Here’s the deal…Your ECs are good, but nothing really stands out. For the schools you are looking at, there are students who have done things like interning in a lab conducting research to working for a senator and still get REJECTED. You have to do something that portrays passion and committment.
With that being said, your GPA looks solid considering you have the most rigorous schedule your school allows and you HAVE to get 2200+ on the SAT to have a shot (not saying that it’s mandatory for everyone, but from the looks of your resume right now, it is a necessity)

All the Ivies- Reach (for everyone…)
University of Chicago- They rely a lot on essays from what I’ve heard, so write a killer essay and you’ll have a good shot
University of California- Low Low Reach
NYU- Match considering you don’t need financial aid…I’ve heard they’re pretty stingy

I don’t know about several of these schools, especially considering that you didn’t put down a GPA, but if you can bring your SAT scores up from 2100 you should be looking at a match for NYU, a low reach for Chicago (especially if you write a good essay- shouldn’t be overly hard if you’re a writer for the school magazine if it’s an okay publication), and a reach for all the Ivy Leagues. For the University of California, it would depend on which campus, but most of them are a match right as you are now. However, I don’t know how (or even if, although I think it would) living in Canada would affect that, so you should take everything with a grain of salt.

Come back with scores. Unless you’ve taken several diagnostic tests and consistantly scored a 2100, there’s no reason for us to assume that will be your score.

Thanks everyone! I’m wondering if the “reach” for the ivies mean a BIG reach or a “reach” that is for everyone who are not superstars or prodigies? Like is there HOPE?

Your ECs look good but its really hard to chance without SAT scores.
this is the best i can do right now:

Wharton- Reach
Columbia- Reach/ low reach
Princeton- High Reach (for everyone)
Yale- high Reach (again, it is for everyone)
NYU- High Match
University of California- low match
University of Chicago- reach

“Thanks everyone! I’m wondering if the “reach” for the ivies mean a BIG reach or a “reach” that is for everyone who are not superstars or prodigies? Like is there HOPE?”

I started a thread (below) about what “reach” and other things meant. It helped me out, so here it is.
