Son just received a 4.0 for 1st semester at GT - yea!

We are out-of-state and thus pay a lot but he is thriving at GT so it is well worth the "investment". Since he has done so well this semester the suggested course load for chemical engineering we are hoping that he can apply for scholarships that might be available for students already at GT.

Does anyone know of specific scholarships/opportunities he should explore?

Congratulations! I knew he would be just fine

I’m not sure of any existing scholarships, but he can contact the financial aid office and see if they know of any. Sometimes, if a new endowed scholarship becomes available, they’ll automatically assign it to students based on major, GPA, and certain other factors.

While his GPA is perfect, I would have him apply for jobs / internships in the Spring. He should be able to find an excellent placement in Spring interviews.

He should read the Technique for scholarship announcements. Semmes for engineering students who demonstrate leadership, IMPACT for campus leadership, Ferst for entrepreneurial leadership, etc. Some majors do have some awards/prizes for ‘best of’, such as top sophomore in ME, etc.
