Does anyone know the cost differential of living in a sorority house versus room and board
You can look up the cost of R&B on the university website - and then compare to the info in this document on page 14
However, of more interest is how many girls get to live in. Is there room for a whole pledge class plus exec officers to live in? Or is it a points based system? The majority will be living out and paying R&B AND live out dues to the sorority. This is where it gets expensive.
My D is at Bama, and for 380 girls, there were 60 beds in the house. With c.10 officers that left about 50 beds for everyone else. The sororities there run a points system, with the most involved girls getting the most points and being eligible to live in.
As well as costs, there are pros and cons to living in the house so consider these also.
