With my stats I was wondering where do I have "a better chance" landing in, Cornell or University of Chicago. I have a 1980 on my SAT and a 27 on my ACT. 3.92 unweighed GPA and 30/600 class rank.

What happened to your test scores, man? Can you work on getting those up before applying? What’s the rest of your profile like, your EC’s, etc.? Both Chicago and Cornell give an admissions ‘boost’ to EA/ED applicants, so you can watch that and see what you want to do.

Best of luck! And remember, the better fleshed out your application is, the more easily adcons can overlook one or two mediocre points.

@Rny2: I am going to boost them up on September and October of this year, hopefully breaking 2100 and 31+. I don’t think either of those do EA and ED is not for me because those aren’t my first choice schools.

The University of Chicago does offer an EA option. I don’t know why anyone who applies would not use it, unless you also are applying SCEA to Yale or Stanford.

Overall (RD/ED/EA impact aside), Chicago and Cornell are very similar in selectivity. There are enough significant differences in the two schools that if you are choosing only one, admission likelihood is probably not the best basis.
