In Need of Advice for Scedule

I will be an undergrad freshman in Stony Brook this upcoming fall. I will major in bio. I need some advising about my classes.

Current Classes
- Intro Chem w/ Lab
- Calculus II
- Writing I
- Seminar

I know that I need to take a year of math for med school. I already have AP credit for calculus I. Should I give it up and retake calculus I and then take Calculus II in the spring? My other option is to take calculus II and then take Statistics in the spring. Stats is normally taught by TAs in my school. That is why I am a tad hesitant about taking it.

Now you are probably wondering where my bio class is. Well at Stony, the bio class that is used for major credit is BIO 202 (Molecular Bio). This class is the basic bio class and students normally take it in soph year. Before I came to Stony, I had an idea that classes would look something like this from these forums:

Fresh Soph Junior
-Bio w/ Lab - Orgo w/ Lab - Bio Class
-Chem w/ Lab - Physics w/ Lab - Bio Chem
-Calculus - Psychology - Elective
- Writing - Bio Class

Most of my friend's schedules from other schools will look something like this. Of course some can argue that orgo and physics is torture. However in h.s., I already took AP Physics and a semester of orgo, so I know what I am getting myself into.

Now speaking of bio. This year, my school has allowed freshman to take molecular bio. The school would not give it to me, but I fought with the administration and they finally gave-in. They said that I could take bio without a lab now because I would be 1 credit over the max amount (max amount of credits per semester is 19). Or I could take this class in the spring of my freshman year or just the whole molecular bio sequence in soph year. I am just thinking that by me not taking bio at all in freshman year, I would be in a huge disadvantage when it comes time for MCAT review. I mean molecular bio is hard enough, but combining it w/ orgo may be hell. Then again, I am not sure. I do not have that much experience. I also do not know how wise it would be for me to delay physics until junior year because physics is a time consuming class and it would truly sap away time from MCAT review. I already took AP Chem, so I have an idea of what I am in for with regular chem. Please provide me with some feedback. Thanks and sorry that this is so long.

Can anyone please give me some feedback. I am pleading here.

bumpppppppp

If statistics is not a required course and you have the background for calc 1 - take that course, it won't be difficult for you, put in the effort and its an easy a. Better to be busy than bored.

If I was in your position i'd add an elective of some sort. Being that calc 1 may be a little boring for you considering you have already past the AP for it.
