In need of enlightenment...

Greetings fellow college prospects and college students. I'm looking to go to college coming up this fall, (I took a year off, graduated in 07.) more specifically University of Michigan.

The dilemma: I need to take a SAT/ACT test to get accepted. The problem is during high school I had no real ambition nor did I begin investigating these tests until hitherto. So their are some things I must know to embark on this journey.

The questions: When/how specifically do I go about taking these tests? Do I have to go back to my high school? Do I go to the anticipated college? Do they have these tests taken elsewhere? They can only be taken during a specific date?

Which test is for me? From the sounds of it I seem more accustomed to taking the SAT. From what I foraged from the articles I read that the SAT is more of a aptitude test, deductive reasoning etc. The ACT is more along the lines of a curriculum/knowledge of high school based test, and considering I've forgot quite a bit I may be better off with the SAT? I feel math will be my downfall which test is a little easier/lenient on that?

Feel free to PM me for more specific interaction or leave any information you may have here. Anything will be greatly sought after and appreciated. Thank you. :)

If you're looking to enter college this fall (2008), you'd better contact the admissions people at Michigan directly for advice. It sounds as if you haven't applied yet, and you may want to get some sort of realistic time line and requirements right from the horse's (or in this case, wolverine's) mouth.
