I’m looking to transfer for fall 2008. I was looking on the website and a requirement in the 9 ways of knowing is that students must take a language through the first four semesters. I’m in spanish 110 (there is spanish 105, 107, then 110) at my current college and am not signed up to take it next semester. Will i not be able to transfer?

im going to call the admissions office today but i thought i would just post here to see if anyone can fill me in. thanks!

The Nine Ways requirement is that you either take that many semesters or pass a proficiency test to a certain level. In other words, the class you are taking now may put you at a level that would allow you to test out of the requirement. Since it sounds like the highest class offered, perhaps that is the case. I know my d only had to take two semesters of Spanish, not four.

Don't accept this as the final word, however, as this is just my recollection. I don't think this requirement would keep you out of Barnard, though! Do go ahead and call and ask!

Best to you!
