In-Person vs. Skype interview HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I have a dilemma. I recently graduated with a B.A in psychology and applied to 3 graduate school programs for school psychology. I recently got an interview for my #1 school University at Buffalo. I am debating on whether I should skype or do an in-person interview.

The interview is 4 hours away (8 hours round-trip). The school offered me the option for an in-person or Skype interview at 10:30 am, and I am weighing the pros and cons. I thoroughly research things, and I feel this decision will make or break my acceptance.

I have read so many forums on this topic, but they’re all older. I understand that Skype is being used specifically for the purpose of interviewing and it is convenient for both interviewer and interviewee, but it is not the most personal. I am juggling two jobs and being that it is Buffalo, I would have to take two days off to go in case of weather and such. I don’t know if I can afford or devote the time to go in for a one hour interview. I am honestly leaning toward Skype, but afraid it will hinder my chances of making a personal connection and getting into the school.

I know people will be back and forth on this subject, but I am curious to hear other opinions. I tend to overthink things and worry a lot, but talking things through will make me feel better. Thanks for the responses, I appreciate it.
