<p>I've been looking at VDC as an option for housing next year and was told that all the housing complexes, minus arroyo, only had full year contracts. So I was wondering, do those of you staying at one of these places live there the full year or just leave over the summer? Id like to go home over the summer but I think it'd be stupid to waist all the money for the 3 months.</p>

<p>You can sublease it to someone who needs to take summer session. Just make a contract.</p>
<p>Is that something you'd have to do on your own or is that something you can setup with the housing office before hand and they'll take care of it?</p>
<p>VDN is not part of the Housing Office. They are a private entity, and you sign your lease with them.</p>
<p>You need to read the fine print about subleasing. A few years back, you couldn't sublease during the 1st quarter of your lease, so if you got a June-June lease, you were stuck with it (and the rent payments) during the summer. At least officially.</p>
