Missouri has an excellent journalism progam and would be a good match. Ohio University (probably more of a safety) also has an excellent journalism program.

Yeah, I have been considering Ohio U but today was the first time that I really took a good, in-depth look at their website, and I found something which makes it unable for me to apply. It says that in order to apply to the Scripps Journalism School the required SAT score is 1140 (which I have) however it says that you have to be within the top 15% of your class, and I'm certainly not, or anywhere near in that range. I was also previously looking into Mizzou but I think their program is too competitive for me, and I most likely won't get admitted for journalism. Thanks for the response though poi.

Missouri does have a program where you can be classified as a "pre-journalism" student your freshman year if you're not directly admitted to the J-school. And you could be accepted into the J-school sophomore year. :)

ES, what about American, Temple and Qunnipiac. I think they all have very good journalism programs.

Marquette and Bradley University

Hey, thanks a lot for the suggestions. I think Marquette and Quinnipiac are a bit too expensive for my taste, however Bradley looks solid and I will take a closer look into Temple because it looks like a great school.

Elon University in North Carolina is right up your alley. And they have an outstanding Journalism program...with ties to the New York Times that go back decades. A drop dead gorgeous campus voted consistently one of the most beautiful in the nation. Its very inexpensive as private schools go and they give decent financial aid. Kids there go overseas....a LOT. Its a very friendly campus and is well respected academically.

Yes! Elon is by far my number 1 choice school, and I would be elated to go there. Actually I happen to be working on the app essay right now :-) The things I have heard/seen about Elon have been excellent - it's my dream school but I don't know if I can get in; it's going to be difficult...

Ohio-Athens
American

Towson maybe?
