In search of an ideal college...

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew of a great Non-Denominational Evangelical Christian University. It must have an Honors program, accept AP, have a double major program, and has to offer two majors having to do with Ameican Government and Biblical Studies.

I'm looking into Azusa Pacific & Biola University. Any other recommendations?? Thanks a lot.

wow those are specific requirements. Sorry I can't be of assistance.

really? i thought it was quite narrowed down... hmm, lets see... well, im a sophomore in high school, and i took the sat in october so i could qualify for dual enrollment at my community college and attained an 1110... so i figure itll go up when i take it again later on. I have a 3.8148 GPA and a 4.1481 HPA and my rank is 0005/0134. Does that help, celebrian25?

I agree those are really narrow requirements. So your scores are not so much a consideration. Maybe look at Calvin college (don't know if it has all you requirements), I know a boy who went there for the Christian angle when he could have got into a better school academically, and he quite liked it.

If you can get your scores up, there's probably no finer evangelical Christian school in the country than Wheaton College in Illinois. It's basically considered to be the "Harvard" of Christian colleges. <a href="http://www.wheaton.edu%5B/url%5D">www.wheaton.edu</a> If you want to stay in California, however, add Pepperdine, Westmont College (near Santa Barbara), and possibly Pt. Loma Nazarene to your list. Christian Heritage College near San Diego might also be a possibility. Azuza Pacific is a very nice school - I have a friend who has sent both of his daughters there and has been quite pleased with the education they have received and the supportiveness of the school. Outside of California, in addition to Wheaton and Calvin, look at Whitworth College and Seattle Pacific University in Washington State, Texas Christian University in Texas, and Hope College in Michigan. You could get a great education at any of these schools.

Another option would be Grove City College in western Pennsylvania

Is Bob Jones Non-Demoninational?

biola - honors program, distinguished faculty (especially in philosophy - william lane craig, j.p. moreland), rigorous academics, alumni achievers (eg - the senator-elect from south dakota), high profile Christian support (the children of dr. james dobson and lee strobel are biola alumni). seems like a great school to me with a very strong Christian focus.

Hillsdale in Michigan. Also Liberty College in Virginia.

One more: Gordon College in Mass.

I would add Taylor University to your list of prospective schools.

Bob Jones: Quite possibly the worst college in the world

I could be wrong, but I think that Bob Jones is not even regionally accredited.

Biola University's Torrey Program is the best honors program in the country, in the context of evangelical Christian schools.

I'll second Grove City and add in Messiah College for a safety.

Another school to look at, though it is affiliated with the Mennonite Church is Eastern Mennonite Unversity. It is very ofter over-looked, but has some excellent programs and great study-abroad opportunities (<a href="http://www.emu.edu%5B/url%5D">www.emu.edu</a>)</p>

Yes, look at Calvin College in Michingan.

Cedarville University in Ohio. It is Baptist affiliated but meets all of your other requirements. Website says only 57% of students are Baptist affiliated.

Grove city is a really good school
they are pretty strict though, but i suppose most christian schools are like that

lol, this thread is old, omg!!! lol, but yeah, i'm not really interested in Xian colleges anymore...
