<p>Sometimes the school can fax things in. That worked for me for ED with a missing teacher rec at another college. The key was that my counselor called and worked out an acceptable way to get the letter to the admissions people quickly (and then followed their instructions and also sent a paper copy in the mail). That was about two weeks after the deadline.</p>
<p>As she kept telling me, the colleges don't hold teachers' and counselors' mistakes against students. She was right in my case. Don't panic.</p>
<p>My guidance department is like that. They are even aggressive to ED kids. I give them everything in the first week of November and they still haven't sent in all of my transcripts yet. It just happens. </p>
<p>My advice is, just hope for the best AND push them really hard but in the end there's really nothing you could do. The irresponsible people will always be like that. I don't know about you, but my counselor / his secretary are mean when they find out that students are applying to top schools. Some mentality they have...</p>
<p>If you get interviewed, tell the alumnus everything you just said.</p>
