SATs
690M
690V
1380 Total (for those who can't add)

live in virginia

GPA
4.0 Unweighted
4.2 Weighted

5 APs by graduation, good recs, good essays, bleh bleh blah

lots of ecs, but also a few that i'm really dedicated to and done a lot

Based on that, ideas?

where in virginia, north or south?

washington dc :(:(

You've got a great shot...I'd say at least 75%. North or south doesn't really matter...the acceptance rates for the two respective regions differ by about 6 percentage points.

i'm not sure about that... i'm from northern VA and i had 5 friends who applied ED to UVA and all of them either got rejected or defferred... i could be wrong but i thought if you apply from northern VA then you have the least likely chance of getting in, even harder than out of state.. sorry i know it stinks UVA is amazing

His numbers are very very good for UVa...he should not have much of a problem, as long as too many people from his school don't apply. UVa is a very good school, but as far as instate admissions go, it is not on par with the ivies. Take a look at this article:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn?pagename=article&contentId=A20357-2003Jul20¬Found=true

Interesting stuff, eh? Believe me, someone with a 1380 who's got a 4.0 and a decent number of AP's will definitely find himself in the admit pile, as long as essays and recs are in the good to decent range.

Interesting. Thank you all for your replies. I forgot to mention that I am a legacy- my dad went there, as well as my 2 brothers. More thoughts?

wut did your two brothers get?

From what I've read in our Alumni mag, legacy status doesn't do much for an in state student. It's a small plus. For out state applicants it puts you in the in state pool, which is a big deal.

I agree with Cavalier302 though, your chances are very good.

Thanks for your replies, amnesia I don't quite understand your question.
