In-state Statistics

Does anyone know what the statistics (gpa, sat, class rank, etc) are for those who apply in-state? I have searched far and wide but cannot find them. Thanks!

Not available, at least officially. Here’s the official data. Only data that break out IS and OOS are applications, offers, acceptances.

You’d have to extrapolate from the averages data. Recognizing that the incoming class is about 2/3rds IS, and the fact that IS admissions are slightly less competitive than OOS.

While it does not split between IS adn OOS, I found the data on this state site very useful for lots of information.

Link is for the Virginia State Council for Higher Education (part of the Virginia.gov website)

Thanks! I’ll do the math. It would be useful information though - they should really post it

Beware of relying too much on the average stats. There have been some posts by very upset Va. students who expected a very high SAT score by itself should have guaranteed their admission. Put much time and energy into the essays, and who that you are really involved in one or more extra curriculars instead of just joining clubs.
