In state student, out of state student. What do you think?

As my junior year is getting closer to ending, I'm getting more interested in college.
Many say Michigan State University does not offer well scholarships ( including FASA) although I know someone who didn't apply to the school until March and got accepted around April. Where are they now? Attending the school, only have to pay about 1-2000 dollars, and stay in their dorms etc.... Others claim University of Michigan-Ann Arbor is more likely to support in scholarships, and others say attending a school out of state your more likely to be offered well in scholarships.
I once was only going to apply to Michigan State University, but learn it may not be so safe. So I added University of Michigan- Ann Arbor on the list, but hearing the out of state comment... I'm thinking I should add a out of state school as well.

With what I posted above be accurate?
Also anyone know any schools similar to Michigan State University and University of Michigan- Ann Arbor?

I’m going to send you a message about the University Of Wisconsin and NYU!

Thanks for the long list, I’ll be looking for the message.

I forgot to mention that I like large universities, prefer a student body of 40,000+… and wouldn’t attend a university that doesn’t have a medical school.
