In State Transfer Chances

From a Washington public university.

3.84 gpa
3.85 major gpa

taking upper level classes as a freshman, (advanced standing as a soph due to aps)
auditing graduate lvl class
research assistant
went to UW for model eu

awesome essay, addressing personal diversity and service with politician, huge financial need, what are chances?

Major Political Science, (not that competitive)

also referenced a former UW POL S employee that told me to apply to UW, hopefully that counts for something.

GPA is fine, however, UW looks at transfers from another 4 year university below all other transfers and OOS…

Does that mean it’s very unlikely? You sure about the OOS?

Hey oldeknave,

4-year in state transfers have last priority, but that doesn’t mean you won’t get in. If you look at last year’s transfers thread, there were several who got in from four year institutions. Being in state will help a ton, and your GPA is solid. I’d say you have a pretty good shot, but what do I know?

I’m looking to transfer to UW from WSU this year. Where are you currently at?

Where do you see that? I didn’t see anyone transferring from in-state college?
