In-state transfer technicalities

Hello everyone,

I understand that the acceptance rates for transfer students are always higher amongst in-state student, but what if you've previously attended a school outside the state and later moved back in? I'm a Bay Area native who has high hopes of transferring to one of the top schools in California. If I spent my first 2 semesters of college in Bloomington, Indiana and the next 2 semesters in California, would I be considered just as much of an in-state student as everyone else who's entire education took place in California? Thank you for your help!

Daniel, I am going to move this to the UC Transfer subforum. I believe you will find better responses by posters frequenting those threads.

IMO, you are "instate" California based on your residency, not where you attended college.
