In-state tuition for out-of-state student.

Hi! I'm really looking into U of M because of their strong developmental psych program. I just finished my junior year and I live in Illinois. My parents are really pushing an in-state school because of price. However, they say if I can get in-state tuition at an out of state school, they would be fine with that.
My brother applied at minnesota and got in-state tuition, and I heard they do that quite often. However, he got a 34 ACT, and I have a 29. Quite different. Our gpas are almost identical, mine is probably a little higher than his was. I have a 3.84 at this point.
What are the chances of me getting instate tuition?

You want the Gold National. You need to be in the top 15% of your class and have strong credentials. Can you get the ACT score higher?

My school doesn’t do class ranks and ehh. I dint really plan on taking the act again. Are there any other scholarships they offer?

Julia, Minnesota’s out of state tuition (even at full price) is less than U of I- although U of I locks it for four years. But even so, they may be equal in the end, but not more. Not sure about the other Illinois state schools, but only U of I would compare academically to Minnesota.

Yeah, I did notice that. Illinois schools are so expensive. Ughh
