In-state tuition question

My parents are divorced, and I live in Pennsylvania with my mom. My dad lives in Virginia. Now does that mean I can get in-state tuition in just Pennsylvania or would I be able to get it in Virginia as well?

I don’t see that provision in VA state law…though I only did a quick search. Your best source of residency info for tuition purposes will be the college’s residency office as each school will make their own determination, based on state law and your application. What I found may or may not apply to your situation:

In short:

Is your dad your custodial parent? (You live in PA with your mom)

Does your dad claim you as a dependent on his taxes?

Does your dad provide most of your support?

You may end up not being eligible as an in-state resident for UVA
