In State v Out of State Acceptance Rates

Hi all,
I’ve heard that there is a vast difference in the acceptance rates for medical school of in state and out of state applicants. I live in Virginia but I go to school (undergrad) in Georgia. I will be applying for med school in a few years and I was wondering if I would be considered as in state for where I go to college or for where I live.

Thanks!

Except in very unusual circumstances, you cannot become a resident of state if you are living there solely for educational purposes (attending college).

Based on what you’ve posted, you’re a Virginia resident.

If your parents move their jobs and primary residence to Ga for year or more before you apply for med school, you will be consider Ga IS applicant.

Thank you so much! I was hoping that would be the case
