In what order should I take my SAT (second attempt) and SAT II's

Hi everyone,

Basically the title; I’m not quite sure in what order I should take my SAT redo and Subject Tests. Should I take the SAT first in October and then Subject Tests in November, or the other way around? Should I utilize the December test date at all? Thanks in advance!

Same situation here, 2 months for math II and physics and 1 month for SAT or viceversa, which is better? :S

Take SAT I October, because that’s the test that’s going to get you scholarships, etc. Remember many schools don’t care about the II’s nearly as much. Also, by taking the SAT I in October, you could still take the December SAT as an emergency backup plan.

I agree that SAT is viewed as more important in college apps. A lot of schools don’t even require SAT II’s. Are you a rising senior? And are you thinking of going for early action/decision or regular decision? If you’re going for regular, then I think the December date is an option, only if you absolutely need to though. If you’re going for early however, you should be done by November. Like, the last test you take should be in November. At least, that’s what I think.

@AnimeMango Yes I’ll be a rising senior, not planning on any ED though because frankly, its not a great idea to do so if you’re middle class, imo. Certain schools, like Pitt, have an earlier deadline because I’m trying to get into their GAP program though, but the schools that have earlier deadlines don’t really need SAT II anyway. I think I’ll follow the advice of the posters and do my retake first then SAT II’s. Thanks for the responses!

True. If you apply early, I heard your aid package can go down. I’m glad you’ve figured out what you’re going to do. Good luck!!
