“Most Mac users don’t know much about the PC, but they still post in this thread and attempt to compare the two, not knowing that there is always a PC that fits their needs.”

“Most Mac users don’t know much about the PC, but they still post in this thread and attempt to compare the two, not knowing that there is always a PC that fits their needs.”

Passive aggressive much.

Yes, but considering the iMac would be the best I guess it’s superior there.

The iMac is almost completely equal to the high end all in one PCs. [Dell XPS One 27 Review - Watch CNET’s Video Review](<a href=“Dell XPS One 27 (Windows 8) review: Far and away, the best Windows 8 all-in-one - CNET”>http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/dell-xps-one-27/4505-3118_7-35485706.html)

When I read this thread, I realized something, no matter how much you present your evidence, the opposition refused to comply due to their feelings. When your evidence is on point, they go straight attack your character. ha the world we live in.

I have yet to receive a valid response that actually counters or challenges any of my evidence. Instead, everyone is attempting to invalidate my arguments/evidence by saying that it doesn’t apply to them or that I presented it the wrong way. What they don’t realize is that no matter how invalid they make my statements sound, the truth behind them always stays the same.

“Our experience is that Macs never slow down and don’t get affected by viruses. My oldest son swears to never buy a PC again. We have saved a lot of money by not buying antivirus software for the Mac.”

Macs most certainly do get viruses, give me your son’s macbook and I will get a virus on it on. The difference between pc and macs when it comes to viruses and thing of that nature is that the mac user base is so low that people don’t tend to make viruses for them. Think about it, the majority of average users and companies use pc’s, its more effective to your use time developing viruses for windows based machines.

Its the same reason that you see android phones gets viruses and not iOS because if you look at the user rates, android dwarfs iOS.

Now as far as mac is better for school, don’t believe. Macs tend to be overpriced and if you buy a windows based laptop with similar specs it will cost cheaper OR if you buy a windowslaptop with a similar price as a macbook, the windows based SHOULD perform better, so long as you aren’t buying a bridge.

Macs do look damn good aesthetically though plus its the “cool new hipster” thing to do, like wearing designer torn clothes. Popular trends and over-hyped media to the ignorant will always make something appear better than it is.

Edit: plus for some reason people love to compare a macbook pro to a windows based laptop that has lop sided hardware comparison, leaning towards the macbook pro.

If you’re buying a desktop, pm and I will help you build one; NEVER BUY A PREBUILT DESKTOP NEVER…the only reason I buy premade laptops is because you can’t buy laptop cases like you can desktop cases

2nd Edit: In defense of the macs though, if someone is too lazy/stupid to learn how to handle and maintain a computer then the mac is the way to go because it is damn near ■■■■■■ proof.

This reason and look is the only reason to buy a mac over a pc.

But LOL @ all those people saying you have to maintain a pc so much more than a mac. You obviously aren’t doing something right if you’re getting BSOD on your PC; so YOU are the problem not the machine

A Toyota is cheaper than a Lexus and will get you there legally just as fast. A Toyota can be faster in the hands of an expert driver, and a good mechanic can make it even faster. How can a Lexus be better? The ride isn’t any more comfortable; it’s not more attractive. Lexus buyers are showing off and wasting their money; we all know what they’re like. There’s no valid reason for anyone to buy a Lexus.

Are you implying that a Mac is a luxury item? If only you knew how they were manufactured. If anything, a laptop from digital storm is a luxurious computer because it is assembled from the highest quality components and tested extensively to make sure you get the best possible experience. Any manufacturer who assembles PCs in very large amounts(Acer, Apple, Dell, HP, Asus, and Lenovo) rarely make luxury style computers available for the average consumer.

You said it yourself, a Lexus isn’t better. A Lexus is just an overpriced Toyota, just like the Mac is an overpriced PC.

@vonlost Now, replace Lexus with anyone luxury brand car and you’ll it still doesn’t make sense.

We’ll never get Lexus buyers to go Toyota, no matter how many valid reasons we give them. ;)

And you wouldn’t get a BMW owner to switch over either…I don’t see the point you’re making. Unless your point is that Lexus aren’t even good luxury cars then yes I get your point.

We won’t get Mac users to switch for the same reasons. They want their perceived luxury, even if their reasons are invalid. ;)

I’ve had both, and while I know much more about a PC I can tell you I love my macbook 100 times more. The mac is more user friendly, I guess you can say and you can run windows on a mac! you can’t do that with a pc.

vonlost:
So basically, ignorance is bliss?

From time to time I ride in a friend’s Lexus; he appears to be in bliss. He used to drive a Toyota, but now prefers Lexus. Is he ignorant? I think not. Using a Mac is bliss for me. When it comes to PCs I am indeed ignorant (it’s been years since my company switched me from PC to Mac), and I hope it stays that way. ;)
