In which University will it be easier to transfer in after my first year for engineering?

I've been accepted in both University at Buffalo (UB) and Binghamton University (BU). I've been accepted as a general student in both universities and I was wondering in which one will it be more competitive to get into for engineering after my first year. I've heard that UB has got one of the best Engineering schools in the USA and it is rather difficult to get into but I wanted to know if I have the chance of getting in the School of Engineering. I've got a math SAT score of 580 out of 800 and they required a minimum score of 600 to admit a student directly in the school of engineering.

My dd went to UB and it was tough to get into the department but she was lucky because they needed females in engineering. Her experience indicated that you have to have close to an 800. She was fortunate because she was strong in math. I would recommend that you try to increase your math ability and retest because they won’t let you transfer into the department, they are impacted.

Thank you for the information. I know my maths score is not so good but I only practiced it 3 days before the exams and the maths syllabus is different to what I usually do in school here in my country. Also there is the negative marks on the SAT and I completed every part so this is where I lost marks.
