In your opinion..

What would you say is the best SEC school, academics wise?

Tie between Emory and Vandy. UGA Honors program, maybe.

Vanderbilt.

Clearly Vandy

Duke is ACC fwiw

Then Vandy it is.

Vanderbilt

Florida. That was easy.

Is Emory in the SEC? We are talking about the Southeastern Conference right?

^^ I think you’ve forgotten Mississippi St. in your calculations

^^ Ok, maybe it isn’t. I was just thinking about anything below the Mason-Dixon line.

Vandy, nothing else is even close.

While I’m at it…
Best college by conference for major conferences
ACC- Duke
Big 10- Northwestern
Big 12- Texas
Big East- Including basketball-only, Georgetown or Notre Dame, otherwise Syracuse
Pac 10- Stanford

Yes, I mean the SEC as in the sports conference.

Vandy… eh. I sort of wanted to avoid going to a college in Tennessee. Besides, my cousin goes there and bleh.

^^^^^ What happened to MIT!? You should be heading to Cambridge.

^^ Ole Miss!

William Faulkner went there! :D

^ no college football - just crew :/

I mean yes MIT is still my top of the list in the event I do get in.
However, in the event I get rejected from Carnegie Mellon, Yale, Harvard, MIT, and Stanford…

I don’t want to be in my state for college.
I love the south, I love SEC sports season, I love the atmosphere.

I also have UMich and UT-Austin on my list… for Computer Science.

Ole Miss… Mom’s a Memphis fan and Alum… I hate Ole Miss. HATE.

^UGA all the way then.

Hmm… if I had to move to a state… yeah it’s between Florida and Georgia…

except I prefer Florida.

Ahh come on now. UF is only #7 in terms of party schools. UGA is 1.

I’m kinda in the same boat as you. I love the atmosphere of college gameday, and the south, but all of the good sports schools save Stanford aren’t so great academically. True, Vandy is an SEC team, but they are god awful at football (lost to UCONN today).

Virginia Tech has a pretty good sports culture and engineering program which I like, but it seems like half of my high school goes there.

UNC and UGA seem to be the best solutions, Bama is well respected too.

UNC is a really good school. Much better choice than Duke.
