Inability to place out of foreign language requirements with some language SAT II's?

According to the Vandy website, you can only place out of the language requirement with these SAT II scores: 540 (French), 470 (German), 530 (Hebrew), 540 (Italian), 440 (Japanese with Listening), 530 (Latin), or 520 (Spanish).

I have a high 700’s SAT score on a language SAT II but this list includes neither Chinese with Listening nor Korean with Listening. Does Vanderbilt not offer credit for these two languages? There doesn’t seem to be a placement test for these languages either.
It seems unnecessary to have to learn a completely new language like Spanish or French when I speak another language fluently at home. Can any Vanderbilt students provide any input?

You can test out of it by taking an exam at the Tennessee foreign language institute. You can also email the Chinese or Korean department, asking them if you can get credit.

Ok, so Korean is not taught at Vandy. Another option would be to take the AP test and use that credit for AXLE.

This is from Vandy’s website

AP scores of 4 or 5 in Chinese Language and Culture; French Language or French Literature; German Language; Italian Language and Culture; Japanese Language and Culture; Vergil, Latin Lyric Poetry, or Latin Literature; Spanish Language or Spanish Literature.
