"Include addressed and stamped envelopes for each school to which you're applying"

Kinda how Harvard asks to give teachers, as a symbol of courtesy, stamped and adressed Harvard envelopes. It maybe that the Finals are getting to my head...but what am I supposed to do exactly?

SO, if Im applying to 15 different places, Do i need to do the above (please explain) 30 times (2 teacher recs) ? damn thats gonna be a lot of money for shipping(international)!

It’s your decision to apply to fifteen schools. Each school has its own requirements. It’s up to you to adhere to those. Otherwise are you hoping they’ll share?

haha I wish

I know that, but can you explain the whole stamped-addressed thing(My teachers will use online, jsut found out)? I can just photocopy the Sec.School report 15 times in addition to all the supporting documents and place them each in their respective envelopes, right? or is there another buttpain rule that says it cant be photocopied?!?!!

Colleges usually want official transcripts, which at least in the U.S. are transcripts with a raised seal or something else on them indicating they’re not photocopies.

This is to lessen the chances that students will submit false transcripts.

In many schools in the US one has to submit transcript requests weeks in advance because high schools have a backlog of such requests. It’s also possible that your school will charge you for official transcripts.

If your teachers are submitting their recommendations on-line, you wouldn’t need to give them stamped envelopes.

I would need to give a stamped large envelope to the Guidance counselor right (for the transcripts, etc.)? I mean, 13 envelopes lol Snail mail guys will lose it (I live in saudi, worst thing here is the postal service, everything else is perfect), looks like Im going couriers with these suckers :D

Any idea regarding applying online AND paper application? Some people say colleges frown upon it, yet I read on the College Board’s website that people may do that.

I have the stamp and signature of the Saudi Arabian Cultural Attache at the Royal Embassy in Ottawa to validate and verify my transcript (grades 9-10)…is that enough??

Each individual, original transcript needs to be stamped, sealed, and verified from the source. You will have to ask each individual college if they will accept the 9-10th grade transcript. They will probably require official transcripts to be sent directly from the 9-10th grade schools.

konig: when applying to US schools, the official transcript and its verification is extremely important. Do not underestimate how essential it is to your application.

Here’s a true story for you: my Ivy league alma mater received six applications from a top Chinese high school. The submitted transcripts had each of the six with perfect grades. However, five different transcript formats were submitted as being official. Obviously massive fraud was being attempted. Can you understand why US college officials are wary of anything except the highest verified transcripts from non-US sources?

SNAAAAPPP. I think I should get to calling them starting now?

Also, Do you think they should fill the additional school reports as Harvard prescribes, or just send the transcripts from each of the past schools and a letter from the current counselor explaining everything (since there is no basis for them to say anything about me, the administration and counselors at both schools changed, just checked)?

My teachers just uploaded their recs online on the common app website.

I hope they wrote you amazing recs!

Should the Sec school report envelope have a return address?
